Prison Break - Beyond Getting Along Is Order And Harmony In Our Relationships

In episode two of Prison Break, one of the lessons contained is getting along. It is being mentioned clearly and loudly by the character Warden Henry Pope to every inmate, and by Charles West Moreland directly to Michael J. Scofield. Actually getting along is in the middle of a continuum. The lowest point is staying out of trouble, and the highest point is living a life within order and harmony.

However staying out of trouble, or just getting along in our life is not enough. Each individual shall contribute to order and harmony in our relationships with every other individual, within the societal structure from the base of dyad, upward to team, group, association, organization, state, nation, world, and the apex is the universe.

So the pertinent question at this moment is, do we ever wish that this world is a composition of only one race, one color, one culture, one language, one religion, and every individual is the same and similar in all aspects and characteristics?

What then is the God’s wisdom of this clearness in the variations, differences, and features, and distinctive characteristics that we are? Perhaps our common aspiration is unity in diversity, rather than uniformity in conformity.

It is clear that upholding unity in diversity, then we shall study the similarities and the differences between living a life inside and outside of a prison. The similarity is the likelihood of physical and metaphysical imprisonments. While the outstanding difference of course is total freedom. Surprisingly, where there is total freedom, then that shall be the best place to live in.

Uniquely between the parting walls of any prison, on the outside, relationships exist between those representing the police, the court, and the hospitals, in addition to the entire private and public intra-and-inter departments. On the inside, relationships exist between the inmates, the guards, the officers, the infirmary, and the prison top administrators. Also relevant is the relationship between those on the inside and those on the outside, including relationship between family members.

In this episode of Prison Break, the audience views Michael at the center, and his dyadic relationships include:

* A relationship of brotherhood with Lincoln Burrows. They share the joyous kinship any two brothers can have. Especially they keep no secret between each other, and they are always on a look out protecting each other with concern and love.

To a certain extend Lincoln is seen to be pushing almost everybody away, because he considers himself like an anchor, sinking together individuals having a relationship with him. Also there is a definite contrast between the present relationship between Michael and Lincoln; and the past relationship between Lincoln and Veronica Donovan; and a past-to-be relationship between Veronica and Sebastian.

* A close relationship with Fernando Sucre, his cell mate. Being cell mates, Michael is aware of the importance of this relationship, especially Fernando’s key role in his action planning. However, the initial closeness that they share encounters a sudden blockage after activities of testing in trust, proceeds to distance these two. Perhaps Fernando is concern about his relationships with Maricruz Delgado, involving a challenging Hector Avila to win her for marriage.

* A possible relationship with Dr. Sarah Tancredi. In this relationship, is Michael using momentarily the good doctor to fulfill his action planning, or will these two develop a lasting love relationship that rises above rules and regulations imposing forbidden a relationship between a prison official and an inmate.

* A relationship with Captain Brad Bellick who shows power and authority, also instilling suspicion and fear. Especially when Brad realizes the awkwardness of Henry developing a relationship of liking and providing a few favors to Michael.

Yet, what similarity we can see in Brad extending privileges to John Abruzzi in a special relationship with him, and John's extended relationship with his associates outside the prison wall.

In addition there is tension in the relationship between Brad and Henry, especially in terms of their leadership styles and approaches, is like the difference between the night and the day.

* A nice tie with Charles. Both are gaining continuous respect and trust. Charles share with Michael about the relationship between the groups of black and white. Inside the prison they never get along.

Overall Michael can be straight forward and simplistic about establishing relationships with other individuals. In the earlier episode Dr. Sarah Tancredi alerted him about trust. Then in this continuing episode Lincoln did the same, alerting Michael about trusting any blacks in their relationship with them. Yet to Michael, their relationships transcend race. Michael is seen to bind a relationship between him and any individual is only on the basis of breaking out of prison in accordance with his action planning. His assessment, judgment, and decision making is thus.

Yet, at this stage, a few do not share his nature especially four prominent leaders, namely John Abruzzi – leading the kinship fraternity; Theodore Bagwell- leading the whites; Benjamin Miles Franklin leading the blacks; and Brad partly leading the prison officers and guards. All four are a major influence in their own individual territory, and they are after Michael, for their own reason, and in their own way.

Michael is perceived by Theodore as mingling with the blacks, and he is accused as a confused individual who is perhaps white on the outside but black on the inside. In addition Michael is perceived by Benjamin as a white who shall remain with the whites and cannot be amongst the blacks. Next, Michael is perceived by John as a blabber who has nothing he needs, and should he needs it, his power enables him to pressure Michael and inflicting him with excruciating pain. Michael is perceived by Brad as a smart individual who is up to crumble the well guarded system of the prison.

Michael has been given a statement by each of them, such as “which side are you on?” “come and be on our side,” and “why you choose the wrong side?” While in the background, on the opposing side is the unique relationship between Special Agent Paul Kellerman and Carolyn Reynolds.

In the entire relationships presented through this episode of Prison Break, the audience can clearly see how vital information is, and how individuals experienced a change in their relationships after they change their perception in light of new and incoming different information.

Above and beyond this, it is interesting to note that the relationships between Lincoln and Crab Simmons; Veronica in a relationship with Wendy her assistant, another lawyer, and La Tisya; Dr. Sarah Tancredi in a relationship with Nurse Katie Welch; and more, surely there is an opening of hope, while a bright light shinning on the avenues for all whites, blacks, colored, and others to go beyond getting along in our relationship, to achieve order and harmony on this earth within our entire universe.

Prison Break - Action Planning To Attain Total Freedom in Your Life

In terms of action, and act by act planning, execution, and presentation, Prison Break has been successful in achieving a position of popularity, penetrating wide viewer loyalty, and promising an exciting continuation of this television series.

Central to the theme of Prison Break is total freedom. This is the right of every individual to choose to be totally free from any form of prison, or imprisonment in life.

The rehabilitation process can be a good correction in any prison management returning back individuals into civilian life. Yet the clear message is for every individual not to be in it in the first place. The prison can be necessary, yet it is not relevant, should each individual in a society practices exemplary good conduct, mutual respect, cooperation rather than competition, and a divine way of life. Then there shall be no need for a prison, or the burden of other kinds of imprisonment in this life.

Next, a pertinent lesson in the pilot episode of Prison Break is planning. Specifically action planning. Interestingly, this kind of planning is full of movements that captivated the general audience attention, desire, interest, and action toward this television series.

The first frame showing the character Michael J. Scofield being tattooed, and the remark made about this fresh tattoo by the character Dr. Sarah Tancredi somewhere in the middle frame, to the last frame the character Lincoln Burrows was asked to view the tattoo closer to view wider, are the whole process of superb action planning.

Yes, superb because the tattoo is the blueprint for Michael, Lincoln, and the other characters breaking out of the prison, and it is also the master story board of the Scriptwriter, the Director, and the other crews unfolding the progression of action planning of the coming episodes of Prison Break.

So, what the Scriptwriter has in mind, outside the frame, and what Michael has in mind, inside the frame, is the same major action planning of Prison Break.

The driving force of this action planning, are the motive and the motivation of love. Yes, love in its many variations. For examples:

* Michael responding to his brotherly love of Lincoln and a possible love relationship perhaps forbidden by rules with Sarah;

* Veronica Donovan’s continuing love toward Lincoln and the entanglement with a newly found love in her fianceé, Sebastian;

* Lisa Rix is a woman starting a new love and life with a new husband and a mommy’s love for L.J.;

* Fernando Sucre holding onto a passionate love for Maricruz, while facing a challenge from Hector;

* Captain Brad Bellick’s love for his job and other enticements in his life;

* Agent Paul Kellerman’s devotion, unique relationship and love for Carolyn Reynolds,

* John Abruzzi’s loves of himself and the bonds between his friends and his “enemies”.

* Charles West Moreland’s love for – Marlyn - a cat;

* Warden Henry Pope surprising his wife with a replica of Taj Mahal, a monumental undying love for her especially appealing to the romantic feeling in her on their 40th wedding anniversary;

* Bishop McMorrow’s love of God, opposing death penalty as a belief for another human;

* And more.

We shall agree that the opposite, an aspect of the contents in Prison Break, is the realization, what a shame it is that there are those who are planning with evil intention and for the wrong reason. They succumb to the setting up of other people, including devastating acts of killing, and hurting the others in numerous ways resulting predicaments, and to the extent of ruining these people’s life. But, it is a wonder as for what gain do these planners obtain? Money, or power, both, or else? Yet sooner better than later, they shall know that the truth shall prevail. No one can hide the corpse of an elephant, for example, with a maple leaf.

Next, observe the intention of action planning. There are those who choose an action planning for a reason, yet there are individuals who choose the same action planning for a purpose. Between a reason and a purpose, is the parting difference in intention of the entire process of planning. Then again there is a grand overall purpose so encompassing that requires any planning to fit into it in order to achieve total success. So please imagine real magic can be performed with action planning toward achieving total freedom.

Although there are those who are planning with evil intention, and for the wrong reason, once realized, an individual can introduce a counter-planning with a sincere intention that can disrupt this planning already in motion. So please imagine the possibilities of goodness in this world achievable with action planning, despite any evilness!

Truly, action planning involves a systematic, schematic, and step-by-step actions, be it short, middle, or long-term, moving toward total success in its manifestation. While in the flow of action planning an individual shall be observant to recurring cycles, and the appearance of synchronicity within the surroundings, due to the mind in the mode so magnetized that one begin to attract or to repel. This is the real magic in the psychology of attraction and repulsion.

In relations to action planning, there are various kinds of people emerging in synchronicity:

* Some people are vital to the action planning yet they are in the dark, so shed some light, so that they are enlightened to become a part of it.

* Some people do not know what the action planning is. They view it as a secret or a mystery. Let them be.

* Some people misunderstood or misconstrued what the action planning is. They might respond or react accordingly or beyond the norms. Explain to them if necessary.

* Some people want to know what the action planning is. They might be allowed or refused the information depending on the more or the less they know the better. Judge and decide wisely.

* Some people are checking up and start an inquiry, testing an individual to tell the truth or to bluff his or her way through, and later this individual shall face equivalent consequences. So be wise.

* Some people do not care or are indifference, although they are relevant to the action planning. Get their attention and participation.

* Some people might have an opinion about the action planning. Their opinion is not important as long as the individual is definite in his or her action planning. Let them say their piece, but when they act to the contrary, their attention need to be directed accordingly.

In addition, in the process of action planning, an individual shall encounter opportunities such as a blessing in disguise. These include seemingly irrelevant aspect to the planning, yet its value is surprisingly useful to the overall success of the action planning. Imagine the wisdom of the art and science of using sources and resources available to his or her advantage.

Once this action planning is implemented, there is a need for definiteness yet flexibility on the individual part, thus he or she shall always be wise to stay the course or allow vital changes.

When the action planning sways away from the course, then there is a need for redirection. When the action planning is halted, then there is a need to apply a back-up plan as a contingency.

In Prison Break, to ensure the action planning is a win-win for all, and seeing to it that no one gets hurt, although the individual know the cause and effect, the act and consequences, but he or she is only in control of the scripting, and not the outcome. The wisdom is to avoid elimination like a bulldozer, and choose to flow like water.

Please realize, while all of the above action planning are on going, observe particularly those individuals in the prison as a representation that most people do not have any plan in their life. They are either struggling, sacrificing, or just surviving.

Prison Break - Why You Shall Prefer To Watch This Television Series And Realize Your Total Freedom

You shall be wise to abide all municipal, state, national, international, and the universal law. This is because, any individual while deserving rehabilitation yet is escaping from a prison by breaking any law is never a good move.

What about Prison Break? To me it is just a television show, yet there are beneficial lessons contain in each episode should any individual prefer to apply these in his or her own life. Especially you who enjoy your total freedom.

Nevertheless, please be wise in the selections of any learning from Prison Break, a truly popular television series, since 29 August 2005, for it does also contain acts that need to be studied further, before you even apply these in your life.

At this moment, viewers who have viewed an episode, a part or the entire series expanding into two seasons already, are presenting their views at various portals and other platforms of communication that allow discussions. Although through these discussions there are various kind of opinions and differences in views, yet the majority has voted an overwhelming thumbs up for Prison Break.

In relations to think outside the box, actually the box can be any kind of physical or metaphysical prison that most people are in throughout their stay on earth. These are quite obvious once you observe yourself and others around you, and witness the followings:

* a life is a prison when an individual does not live within the way of life ordained by the God,

* a house is a prison when an individual actually aspires a home,

* a school, a college, or a university is a prison, when an individual chases only the paper qualification and not being a holistic contributive citizen of the world,

* an office is a prison when an individual is curbed from doing what he or she loves and loves what he or she is doing,

* a marriage is a prison when an individual is not marrying the one he or she loves and loves the one he or she is marrying,

* a friendship, a network, a fraternity, an association, or an organization is a prison when an individual loses his or her power, control, purpose, principle, from the center of his or her being, by unnecessary and detrimental conformity just to gain inclusion,

* a conducive environment and its surrounding is a prison, when an individual hold onto an attitude of being immobilize and stuck in a rut, buried in various issues, problems, and challenges,

* a decision is a prison if an individual do not plan to fail but he or she fail to plan,

* the world is a prison, when an individual do not appreciate self esteem and thus feels that he or she does not belong to any place, or space, here,

* other block-up, boundary, cage, camp, cave, confinement, dilemma, erroneous zone, jail, limitation, lock-up, penitentiary, predicament, quandary, and a trap after another,

* and more.

It seems to me, with the exception of a few, many people are actually in a kind of box that serve as a prison to them. That is why, when in the darkness within the box, they knocked themselves against a stumbling block, or wall, then they give or receive an advice to think. Yes, that is right, think outside the box.

Should you are in any imprisonment please know why are you in the box in the first place? In addition, why do you want to continuously be inside the box, in the second place?

Thus, it is a nice possibility that after watching Prison Break, an individual who is being in any box or any physical or metaphysical prison, shall prefer to be wise so as to move from free doom to freedom in his or her precious life.

Prison Break contains vital and valuable information for an individual to realize, and then ask why think outside the box, when the best possible option is to be outside the box!

Please recall at one moment or another, throughout your life, you may have read somewhere, or heard someone says this phrase; think outside the box. There was also a point in your life, when someone may have written or said to another; think outside the box. Around the globe, the mass media archives are filled with an accumulation of documents on, think outside the box. In addition, leaders, managers, supervisors, politicians, professors, motivational speakers, and others, with good intention of course, have advised the masses to think outside the box.

Those who have written it, read it, said it, heard it, or is in anyway became a part of it, in promoting, think outside the box, they are totally correct! I emphasize this, they are totally correct, because by logic to be able to think outside the box one must be inside the box? How can it be otherwise!

Some even say, well, it is true when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. I say, but what if the teacher who appears is also in the box? Then let me appear, not as a teacher, but as a concern citizen who is already out of the box, and thus inviting you to ask why think outside the box, why not be outside the box?

This is one of the aspirations contain in Prison Break that extends the inspiration to an individual to be outside of any box or prison that most people are in at this moment. So whatever forms and sizes of the box any individual may be in, he or she shall be wise as to choose and be outside that box. Thus, together all can enjoy our birth right of total freedom.

The good news is, to any individual who is still in any form of a box, he or she can now choose, and decide to be outside the box. When this individual is out, then shall he or she actually and exactly experience total freedom!

So, how can an individual get out of the box, and be in the open?

Learn from the following lesson. A natural birth. Please understand, each and everyone of us have had this experience before, an initial stage where one is in a mother's womb, and then out into the womb of mother nature. The first breath of life. From this awesome act, the God teaches us that we shall not continue to be inside it forever, but sooner or later we shall truly be outside it and into this world.

So now, at this point in time, let me extend a hand, if need be both hands to you, and I say come let us be outside the box. Real or illusion, stop now from being inside the box, or thinking outside the box. Let us enjoy our rights to experience total freedom outside. It is free.

That is one of the powerful lessons contain in Prison Break. Each of the characters of the cast series who are being in the prison is preferring to be free. Each is motivated to taste an ultimate total freedom.

So when is the moment an individual is going to be outside the box? I say, do it now. Here is a reflection, before I ended up in this writing box, allow me to ask you this, have you attended a funeral recently? Soon, it is our turn. Yes, yours and mine too. There shall be a box at that moment, where you shall hear no coughing inside it. That box - yes, a coffin, surely is the final box, truly a reminder of a life journey from one box to another, and ended up lastly in a box also. Then it shall be too late.

Perhaps this is why you shall prefer to watch Prison Break, so as to realize, even if you are seemingly not in an actual prison at all, yet you may take notice after this, that you are in one of the many physical as well as metaphysical box or prison. Then, ponder your own way - your own prison break - until you succeed and be outside any box, out of any imprisonment so as to enjoy your ultimate total freedom in this life.
